Your vows
By choosing a personalised ceremony with a registered married celebrant, you can use your own vows.
During your ceremony, there is a statement that you must say in order for your marriage or civil union to be legal. It must be similar to this: I, Party 1’s name, take you, Party 2’s name, to be my lawfully wedded wife/husband/partner.
You will want to add a personal touch, a special vow or promise to your dearly beloved.
But where to start?
Certainly, you can google and that might help you get started.
A good starting point is to think about what makes this person special to you. What drew you to them in the beginning? What have you done together that is special and memorable for you? Why do you stay together? What do you do that annoys them – and you will try to minimise 😊? How do you imagine your future together?
Whatever you choose, and however long or short, what you will say will be right – because it will come from your heart.
